As you are aware, open enrollment for medical benefits for 2022 allowed employees to maintain the previous years rate by participating in our new Company Wellness Program, Go365. While maintaining a flat renewal rate is a step in the right direction, our goal is bigger. The Company wants to improve the health Insurance rates and options its able to offer.
After being presented with three consecutive years of rate increases in excess of twenty percent each year, the decision was made in 2020 to move the benefits program to a new broker, and to a new program for the Kincaid Group Group Healthcare plans. This allowed the Owners to commit to paying a higher dollar amount toward each claim that an employee may have. As a result, the Insurer was willing to charge a lower rate and the Company was able to maintain the 2021 rate in 2022 for employees who participate in the 2022 Wellness Program.
As a group, our best opportunity to positively impact the cost of our medical benefits is to improve our overall health and require less dollars to be spent on our behalf by our insurer. In no way are we asking that you do not go to the doctor or seek medical treatment. We are asking that you get a wellness check with a biometric screening before March 31st, 2022. Often, we need to be aware of something to begin to change it. Early detection of any health condition may allow for more treatment options and better outcomes. Participating in the biometric screening will help each of us to identify the areas we can improve our own health.
The benefits of the Wellness program are that individuals become more aware of their own health status, and begin to work to improve it. With an improved group health, it would be expected the rates we are charged for health insurance would decrease. This is not only financially important, but in the scope of priorities, health has to be near the top. Our health impacts everything else we are able to do. We don’t always get to choose our health, but we can choose our habits, and over time those habits impact our health.
The following information details the options available to have the biometric screening completed prior to March 31, 2022 to maintain your reduced Benefits cost for 2022. If you fail to complete the Wellness Check with biometric screening prior to March 31, 2022 your benefits plan rates will increase as shown on the rate page that were provided at open enrollment, and again in this packet.
WHAT IS BIOMETRIC SCREENING AND HOW IS IT COMPLETED?
 A biometric screening is a quick health check that measures the following:
  • Body Mass Index
  • Blood Glucose
  • Total Cholesterol
  • Blood Pressure
To complete the biometric screening, you must register at Go365.com. Once you are registered, you will schedule your screening at a participating Quest or Lab Core facility. By entering your address on the Go365 site you will be provided with a list of participating facilities in your area. You will also be provided the form that you need to print and take with you to be completed at the time of your biometric screening. You will upload the completed form to the Go365.com website after your screening. This needs to be completed prior to March 31, 2022 to keep the reduced benefit rate.
You may also have the biometric screening performed by your physician. Please be aware that having your doctor perform the screening may result in a Co Pay that you would be responsible for. If you still prefer to have the screening performed by you physician the best way to avoid a copay is if you schedule a preventative annual physical where your physician will already be performing all parts of the biometric screening as part of the physical. In this case, print the attached form (PCP Final 2022) and have it completed by your physician. Please follow the instructions on Go365.com to upload the completed form to the Go365.com website after your screening. This needs to be completed prior to March 31, 2022 to keep the reduced benefit rate.
We are working to coordinate onsite testing at some of our locations prior to March 31st, 2022.
